About Us

We are a growing Alternative Provision based in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, dedicated to supporting children and young people who thrive best outside of mainstream education. Our learners often present with a range of needs, including SEMH, anxiety, disrupted education, or barriers to engagement. We provide a nurturing, structured environment where every young person is known, valued, and supported to achieve meaningful qualifications and personal growth.

The Role

We are seeking a committed and adaptable GCSE and Functional Skills Teacher to deliver high‑quality English and/or Maths teaching to small groups and 1:1 learners. You will play a vital role in re-engaging students, building confidence, and helping them secure the qualifications they need for their next steps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for GCSE and Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2).

  • Create a safe, supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

  • Use assessment to track progress, identify gaps, and tailor learning to individual needs.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider AP team, including mentors, SEN staff, and external agencies.

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and evidence for progress reviews and safeguarding.

  • Contribute to a culture of high expectations, respect, and relational practice.

  • Support learners with reintegration, transition, or progression into further education, training, or employment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent) – or an experienced instructor with strong subject knowledge.

  • Confident teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills in English or Maths.

  • Skilled at building rapport with young people who may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or disrupted learning.

  • Calm, patient, and resilient.

  • Able to differentiate effectively and personalise learning pathways.

  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and positive outcomes for all learners.

What We Offer

  • Small class sizes and a supportive, values‑driven team.

  • Ongoing CPD tailored to your role, including behaviour support, safeguarding, and specialist AP practice.

  • Opportunities to shape and develop our curriculum and provision.

  • A workplace where relationships, wellbeing, and professional trust matter.

  • The chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

How to Apply

Please send your CV and a short covering statement outlining your experience and suitability for the role. Early applications are encouraged as we may interview on a rolling basis.
